Mary Ellen reports that after the rain stopped, she headed over to Millennium Park in West Roxbury - and found this eastern black swallowtail enjoying the local flora.

We raised one
We raised one from a caterpillar a few years ago. Big green caterpillar. My daughter took him to school to show off, then let him go. I've seen conflicting information on how long they live in the butterfly stage. At the time, we thought it was only a few days, so we didn't keep him long.
