No Storrowing this morning, but a City Hall stairing

Don't you just hate it when you're driving and make a wrong turn and next thing you know you're going down the stairs next to City Hall?

Earlier:
The time somebody drove all the way down to Congress Street.

Maybe it's time to start requiring some level of driving proficiency, or at least some evidence of a working human brain, before we hand out drivers' licenses, which seem easier to get than Stop & Shop cards

The state should require you to re-up and pass the drivers test every 5-10 years.

...retesting would have no effect on this stairing.

A 16 year old with what, 52 required hours of driving experience, can pass the test with relative ease more often than not. The hardest part for most would be parallel parking once every 5 years. I just don't see the value in that.

Sure, anyone who couldn't pass the test again shouldn't be driving, but it's not a test for a high skill proficiency, it's a test for the lowest acceptable proficiency.

Now, if you were to argue that we should all take the permit exam on a regular basis, that at least ensures that in your mind you know the rules of the road as they are written in laws.

One thing I've noticed is a total reliance on technology. For some reason, many drivers are fixated on what the GPS is showing.
My guess is that this is the case. A livery driver, undoubtedly unfamiliar with the area, just following what the phone tells him/her.
Happy Motoring One and All!

I’m sure this won’t be a problem once Elon Musk’s vaporware fully autonomous car is released.

would be a good name for it. Motto: "We used to run on electricity, but now we're just running on fumes."

RMV driving test administrators are either ridiculously hard or ridiculously easy from my experience of taking the test twice

The car apparently drove itself, emphasis mine.
That's some real irresponsible "reporting"

A unique incident on #Boston’s City Hall Plaza this morning, as a livery driver’s van accidentally drive down the stairs on the Congress St. side. No injuries to him or his passenger.

Waiting for the Staties to announce that there's "technically no law" against a self-driving van driving down the stairs at City Hall Plaza.

.

The poor guy was probably just trying to regain his memories while on the run with a German woman he just met.

uta pippig ?

and was looking for an address on Cornhill or Brattle Street?

You beat me to it!

Does he win a prize for not cracking?

… by a teenage gang of moped riders transporting rabid graffiti artists.

After all, City Hall isn't even wearing bright colors and it probably just jumped out in front of him without looking.

I think this should be referred to as Cornhilled or Cornhilling.

… which I love also.
