And they haven’t figured out how to mute someone?

The meeting wasn't set up to have people automatically muted upon entry, and zoombombers were pouring in too quickly for individual muting to keep up with.

I am unfamiliar with how GoToMeeting works, but it would surprise me if this was not possible.

mute all participants upon entry

Any public body that hasn’t figured out how to mute spectators two years into the pandemic should probably not be voting on anything of substance. That’s embarrassing.

This seems like a problem that could easily be solved by technology. For example, everyone could be muted by default, and only given permission to unmute when it's their turn to speak.

oh, nevermind. It's nice of her to take time out of her busy schedule of yelling at landscapers for not speaking to each other in English.

I was not there, but I've been told that the city used GoToMeeting. They should have used GoToWebinar.

But a hosted webinar may not meet requirements of open meeting laws.

especially for the Green Line Extension.

There's really no difference between the two, as far as "public meeting laws". They offer the same services as each other.

The only big difference between GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar is the amount of users that can be connected at a time. GoToWebinar is over 1000. GoToMeeting is limited to 200 or something like that (I think GTM Pro can do a bit more).

But generally the controls are the same. GTW is slightly more geared for 'lecture style' meetings (one presenter who will do most of the talking) vs community style (where everyone is equal). And has breakout rooms and a Q&A board. (these aren't as obvious to use in GTM)

I think the issue with these meetings is exactly what others have said. You need to mute people on entry. You also need to have questions go into the Q&A board so they can be filtered out. It also would help filter 'barge in' attendees (people who hammer to get in) to put them in a waiting room and admit them one at a time. (and boot if they start to spam)

I don't blame politicians really. As an IT support person, if I had a dollar for every time I've been asked to go 'setup a meeting' and 'test functionality' before some large company meeting, I'd be rich. Execs at big companies cannot be bothered to learn how to use it, especially since they use it the most... I can't expect pol's to know either.

Where's the helpful IT staff for this?

Did she not get the memo that Orange CHEETUS himself is boosting boosters now? Frankenstein, meet Monster.

Trump is pro-vaccine and anti-vaccine-mandate, based on his comments from a month ago.

Crazier than a sh!thouse rat. Her weekly protests in Swampscott were appointment viewing.

personality" is just a synonym for "pig-ignorant, obnoxious, anti-democratic asshole."

Good to know.

There's someone running for governor who makes Geoff Deihl look moderate.

The wingnut crew is gearing up to be disruptive again tonight, and consoling eachother over how “terribly” Dianna was treated last night. The cognitive dissonance is astounding, it borders on medical.

Does she have the chutzpah to attend the meeting in public? Intimidation via internet.

I don't think she has any issue showing up in person to be a horrible human being.

Here's Dianna paying the cost to be the Ploss at a recent Revere Human Rights Commission meeting (starts around 29:55).
