Machine catches fire in Northeastern science building

Boston firefighters responded to Northeastern University's Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex, at 805 Columbus Ave. after some sort of machine on an upper floor caught fire around 10:30 p.m.
Firefighters, ordered to wear breathing masks, quickly put out the flames and unplugged the device, then stayed on scene for awhile to make sure there were no hazardous chemicals in the air.

Makes me think of life
Makes me think of life sciences real estate gone wrong. If my elite Harvard Medical School MGH doc couldn't yet answer all my questions when he told me I tested positive for Covid and there still isn't anything the elite BWH docs could do anything for my husband who died of hemmoragic stroke in 2018, then I sure as hell hope the experts working in the billion dollar life science buildings and proposed developments find the answer. But I do know one thing. I can count on firefighters to know what to do immediately when these places have a life sciences HAZMAT category gone wrong. And that includes educational institutions.

What sort of machine? A smoke machine, obviously. Then again, every machine is a smoke machine if you use it incorrectly.
