Frog legs were on the menu at one West Roxbury spot today

Heron eating a frog at Millennium Park

People weren't the only ones taking advantage of today's nice weather. Mary Ellen watched a great blue heron gulp down some frog legs - and the rest of the frog - at Millennium Park in West Roxbury.

Bottom's up:

Frog almost all the way down the heron's hatch

Earlier:

Love, love Mary Ellen’s photographs!

She is quite amazing at finding and lining up these wild life shots. It takes a special ability to be able to get shots like this without distracting or scaring the subjects.

Adorably yummy. Magoo

It's not easy being green.

Adorable.

He deserves all the frogs

Great?

I'd guess the frog community would disagree.

they all have their place in it. Under the right circumstances, so do we.

'Twas a joke.

But I thought the frog always grabs the neck of the heron to try to strangle it or at least prevent swallowing. No?
