Sometimes a dumpster fire is more than just a metaphor
By adamg on Sun, 09/04/2022 - 11:52pm
Even if it is right across the street from Fenway Park (besides, haven't the Sox been playing well of late?). Roving UHub photographer Ksenia Dunn spotted this literal dumpster fire around 11 a.m. at 175 Ipswich St., across from Gate K and the Fenway employee entrance.
Past non-metaphors:
- Hunt is on for serial dumpster arsonist in the Fenway
- One dumpster fire isn't enough to define 2020
- Man charged as Back Bay dumpster arsonist
- Firefighters battle non-metaphorical dumpster fire on Melnea Cass Boulevard
- Dumpster fire on wheels delays Providence Line, Amtrak
- Falling wire sparks literal dumpster fire in Sullivan Square

Very aesthetically pleasing!
Nice symmetry of flames within the very large (30yd?) dumpster. No name or graffiti on the side, appropriately anonymous in front of an equally anonymous facade. And the flame color, perfect with a modest amount of toxic black smoke. 9.0 out of 10
Also, in the still photo, the two people in the background seem completely at ease with the whole thing, almost disinterested.
Not Art
But it looks like an intentional firepit installation, albeit out of season.
Well said...
@MrZip.
Closer to a BPS
Which would make more sense.
Naw
Orange line station.
Whoosh! (Note the building
Whoosh! (Note the building behind it.)
My mistake...
I instinctively clicked on the trash fire because I thought it was an MBTA service update.
Yes
My first reaction was, that's a very attractive dumpster fire, as dumpster fires go.
