Another discarded pressure cooker brings police response, this time in Davis Square

Better safe than sorry: Transit Police dispatched the bomb squad to the Davis Square T stop when somebody spotted a pressure cooker just sitting there, Live Boston reports, adding that the thing was, in fact, a discarded pressure cooker.

What are they thinking?
Do the people doing this think it's humorous, or are they trying to make some kind of point? Either way, a failure.
They're afraid to put their broken pressure cooker in the trash
lest the police arrest them for a bomb hoax. So they have to leave it somewhere else in the dead of night.

Judging from the photo, the Instant Pot wasn't closed shut, so it was a pressureless cooker.
