The Dorchester Reporter reports on groups seeking to "intervene" - become part of - the suit over how to redraw Boston city council districts based on 2020 census data. The council voted yesterday to ask the state legislature for dispensation to delay the deadline for accepting nomination papers into June to give it more breathing room as it considers several possible maps, from both councilors and Mayor Wu.

How is this a voting right issue?

District lines can change election results. Redistricting can make your vote mean less.
Haven't they screwed things up enough?
These power-hungry grifters, with their grandstanding Council friends, caused the legal problem in the first place, they need to step back. The notion that a few precincts shifted here or there among these different maps is the difference between racial justice and civil rights violations is obvious nonsense, given the current makeup of the Council.
