And Jesus decided to turn the coffee into wine for all. And JP drank the wine and the snakes I mean the shakes were gone.
I think Zappa has the right message for the owners...
Jesus Thinks You're a Jerk!
Victory!
Another empty storefront.
guess not enough Wesleyan church members drink coffee
people spoke with their wallets, guess the coffee was not good enough to overcome it....
Better than one full of bigots

Temporarily
Another empty storefront...for now.
If only there were thousands
If only there were thousands of places in Boston to get coffee…
These religious nut jobs went out of there way to open in one of the most progressive and LGBTQ friendly neighborhoods in the country, either as a troll or an attempt to shove their religion down peoples throats. The fact that it failed so quickly is equally unsurprising, well deserved and hilarious.
It might amaze you to hear this ...
But there are idealistic right wing evangelicals who are so sheltered and naive that they honestly believe that progressives and atheists are they way that they are because they were trained to be that way ... and that they have simply never heard the word of God and need to be shown the light!
They were raised in completely isolated bubbles and indoctrinated, so they think that must be true of those who they "other". It comes as amazing news to many of them that the wider world doesn't work like that.
I wonder if this revelation had something to do with the place closing? I mean, some people believe that colleges "recruit" people into atheism and homosexuality, when it is usually that they just make space to be gay and question.
Good riddance
This is a group of outsiders openly attempting to come into the community and push their religion on us. They are bigots who hate queer people and are so high on their own farts they think they are the only ones who count as Christians. Fuck off back where you came from.
Probably about the same
Probably about the same outcome I would expect if my barista opened a church in their town.
Actually, I would go to a barista's irony church now that I think of it.
Barista scripture
1 And the LORD said, "Let there be light whipped cream on thy mocha," and the whipped cream was light, and the LORD was pleased. 2 Now in this coffee shop, there was a case of pastries that the LORD forbade the humans from tasting, for the almond croissant was so sweet that the humans would acquire knowledge of all baked goods. 3 But after three double espressos, Kelly said, "I need something to settle my nerves" and was tempted by the croissant.
And the LORD spake
Then the LORD said to Kelly, "Behold, I will rain Dunkin' from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction. "On the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather daily." So Mac and Kelly said to all the sons of Israel, "At evening you will know that the LORD has brought you out of the land of the Seaport; and in the morning you will see the glory of the LORD, for He hears your grumblings against the LORD; and what are we, that you grumble against us?" Mac said, "This will happen when the LORD gives you Sullivan's to eat in the evening, and Dunks to the full in the morning; for the LORD hears your grumblings which you grumble against Him. And what are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against the LORD."
Then Kelly said to Mac, "Say to all the congregation of the sons of Southie, 'Come near before the LORD, for He has heard your grumblings.'" It came about as Mac spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Southie, that they looked toward Westie, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. And the LORD spoke to Kelly, saying, "I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Southie; speak to them, saying, 'At twilight you shall eat Sullivans, and in the morning you shall be filled with Dunks; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God.'" So it came about at evening that Sullivan's opened, and in the morning there was a pink layer of dew across the camp. When the layer of dew evaporated, behold, on the surface of the wilderness there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the coffee grounds. When the sons of Southie saw it, they said to one another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. And Kelly said to them, "It is Iced Dunks which the LORD has given you to eat. "This is what the LORD has commanded, 'Gather of it every man as much as he should eat; you shall take an Coffee Regular apiece according to the number of persons each of you has in his tent.'"
The sons of Southie did so, and some gathered much and some little. When they measured it with an old Iced Dunkin cup, he who had gathered much had no excess, and he who had gathered little had no lack; every man gathered as much as he should eat. Kelly said to them, "Let no man leave any of it until morning." But they did not listen to Kelly, and some left part of it until morning, and it attracted rats like the Sons of Southie had not seen since Allston; and Kelly was angry with them.
They gathered it morning by morning, every man as much as he should eat; but when the sun grew hot, it would melt. Now on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one When all the leaders of the congregation came and told Kelly, then he said to them, "This is what the LORD meant: Tomorrow is a Pats game, a holy Patriots game to the LORD. Bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over put aside to be kept until morning."
So they put it aside until morning, as Kelly had ordered, and it did not become foul nor was there any worm in it. Kelly said, "Eat it today, for today is a Pats game to the LORD; today you will not find it in the field. "Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the day of the Patriots game, there will be none."

This is actually about coffee.

Their problem was that they couldn't hire female baristas
After all, as it says in the Bible:
He Brews.

I happened to run by it this morning. Didn't go inside, but from the outside there were no signs of the imminent closure. Interestingly it had some "all are welcome" signs at the window including the color of the gay flag.

Sure
Our money's green. You never heard of someone taking people's money and then turning around and treating them like trash?
I think these are the same
I think these are the same people who opened an underground coffee house (How cool is that!) on Huntington avenue across from Fenwood Road and held prayer meetings on Saturday nights. That location didn't last a year either.
