Sherborn woman latest to sue Brigham and Women's rheumatologist over alleged sexual molestation in the exam room
A Sherborn resident who wants to go by "Jane Doe" today filed the latest medical-malpractice lawsuit against Dr. Richard Todd, who was fired from his job at Brigham and Women's Hospital earlier this year and who is under investigation by the state Board of Registration in Medicine for sexual practices on patients that he denies.
In her lawsuit, filed in Suffolk Superior Court, Doe also names Brigham and Women's Hospital, Charles River Medical Associates and their officials over what she charges Todd did during her 11 years seeing him for what she thought was his expertise in rheumatology but what she said she now know was at least in part a way for him to sexually gratify himself through "inappropriate and unauthorized breast and pelvic examinations" on her.
As with a Hull woman who sued yesterday, Doe is seeking to become the lead plaintiff against Todd, the hospital and the medical practice on behalf of women who were allegedly molested by him as far back as 2011.
