Readville to get an indoor pickleball club

Boston Real Estate Times reports the Boston Pickle Club has leased 20,000 square feet of space at 91 Sprague St. in Hyde Park for an indoor pickleball facility - which could open by Feb. 1.

The Boston Pickle Club assures it is dedicated to the paddle sport, not to kosher dills, and that it will feature not just courts, but access to pickleball pros, leagues, a pro shop and seven pickleball courts, available via online reservations between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. The courts will be air conditioned in warmer weather.

Make it your own and stoke your passion for pickle all year long.

The club would be Boston's second indoor pickleball venue. PKL on C Street in South Boston also features shuffleboard and beer pong.

Indoor sounds like a good idea if there is some sound proofing.

Surrounded by other industrial buildings, so hopefully no one will be driven mad.

Pretty astonishing how far the sound can carry in the open air.

Now all that area needs is a brewpub for après pickling.

It's not quite walking distance, but Roundhead is basically the same neighborhood and brews some great beers (and has great pizza).

Looks like Bosse Sports in the Westinghouse complex with Roundhead, has pickleball courts.

It's part of a complex increasingly dominating by indoor recreational sports (rock climbing, trampoline, and dance studios). Pickle ball will fit in quite nicely.

I think this is where it is going. Waquiot Jr. had one of his birthdays there.

I probably haven't been over there in at least five years, maybe more, because my kids grew past the age of Sky Zone birthday parties. Looking at google, looks like you are right.

If you lived across the street, you'd be more concerned with the smell from the baking ovens that's blown out a big vent aimed directly down at the houses across the street. And no, it doesn't smell like grandma's cookies - more like yeast in your face all day.

There are already pickle ball courts in HP, Bosse Sports in the Westinghouse complex (right next to Roundhead Brewing) has courts and lessons as part of a full indoor sports facility.

And the orthopaedic and physical therapy office are opening right next door for your convenience… LOL
