Two Boston men crossed the line and tried robbing a Brookline bank, but didn't get any money and didn't get very far, police say
Brookline Police report arresting a pair of Boston men they say tried to hold up the Citizens Bank branch at 315 Harvard St. in Coolidge Corner around 11:15 a.m.
Police say one of the men walked in, "indicated to bank personnel he was in possession of a gun" and demanded money, but then fled without getting any.
Police say that about 35 minutes later, officers spotted the guy a few blocks away and, after IDing him, arrested both him and a second guy he was with on attempted bank-robbery charges. Police say officers did not find a gun.
Juan Rivera, 41, and Justice Crosby, 23, both of Boston, were both charged with bank robbery. Police did not specify which of the two was the one who walked into the bank.
Innocent, etc.

crossed the line
And that line was?
Oh, several possibilities
Like, say, the line where Harvard Avenue in Allston becomes Harvard Street in Brookline ...
wild guess
This whole thing was desperate junkie amateur hour. Detoxing sounds awful, detoxing in jail sounds worse.

TBH if you have a 35 minute head start on the cops and you still are "a few blocks away" at that time you have nobody to blame but yourself for getting arrested.
