Limo carjacked outside church wedding in Dorchester

Boston Police report a limo driver who'd just pulled up to Blessed Mother Teresa Church Saturday afternoon with members of a bridal party in back was punched and pushed out of the vehicle by a guy who had apparently just broken into a nearby house:

The suspect opened the door to the car, threw two bags into the car and demanded that the victim "start driving!" The victim initially refused to do the suspect's bidding and a struggle ensued. During this struggle the victim was punched several times and was eventually thrown out of the limousine. After forcing the victim/driver out of the car, the suspect went on to order several members of the bridal party who were in the back of the limousine out of the car.

Police say the guy, described as white, about 40, 6'0" and 180 lbs., careened into a postal vehicle before disappearing around 1:45 p.m. The limo was recovered about two miles away in front of 31 W. 5th St. in South Boston.

The Herald has more details and a photo of the bridesmaids.

I remember this happening once before, back in the 70's, but members of the bridal party were not pushed out that time.

One of the worst was the time the bride got stood up. It was a real high class wedding, and after an hour, we were getting concerned, as it was supposed to be a 20 minute ceremony. All of a sudden the bride comes bursting out of the church, crying hysterically! Her and her Dad get in the car, she starts downing the champagne, convinced the groom was dead. The old man, on the other hand just kept saying "if he isn't dead, he soon will be". He kept repeating it, while I was in the front, wishing that my shirt collar would have fit over my head.

Also, I was almost strangled on Lansdowne St by some goof I had just pulled off of the hood of the car. He had me by the tie and I was only saved by one of the bouncers cracking him in the back of the head. I switched to clip on ties after that.

Now I only do corporate and entertainment types, they're assholier than thou, but safer.
