Gunfire on Ruggles Street

Shortly before 4 p.m., somebody on Ruggles Street started firing a gun into the Annunciation project. Nobody was hit.
Police are looking for a black man, 25 to 30, clad all in black and carrying a black gun.

My daughter attends NEU and has told me that she goes to parties at Mission Hill. Can someone tell me if it is safe? Thanks
It has both good and bad
It has both good and bad areas. This apartment complex is very rough. I had a few friends that lived there that I would visit frequently and see things like junkies shooting up in the hallways, pissing in hallways, selling crack, etc. I doubt very much your daughter is partying there (I never saw students partying there hehe). Other areas have lots of students sharing apartments where the parties happen and there's less chance of something like gunfire happening. Mission Hill is a gritty area but I very much enjoyed living there. It's a real neighborhood with many decent folks, students, plus some thugs, dealers and street dwellers thrown in to round it all out. If she walks with a group late at night she's most likely fine.
