Update: Victim identified as Desmond Joseph, 34.

Shortly before midnight on Telford Street, Kevin Wiles reports. The homicide unit was called in; BEMS Incidents reports the victim died.

A nearby resident reported hearing four shots.

My deepest heartfelt sympathies go to the family friends and associates of this person. May the person or entity of your belief comfort you during this month tragic moment in your lives.
Acts of violence especially murder hurts everyone, however, you could never compared to the survivors of the person who was taken from them.

this is right by the skate club, used to be a fairly quiet area but the new housing along western ave has increased the amount of foot traffic in the area. all the folks transplanted from the old Charlesview to the new apartments located across from telford. I always thought this was Allston.

There was a report that the suspect fled on foot through a parking lot towards Everett St, which in my head said "Through the Star Market Parking Lot?"

Agreed that that is a pretty quiet area generally.
