Man arrested after midday gunfire in Roxbury
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man who happened to be packing a loaded gun not long after people started calling 911 about gunfire on Nazing Street yesterday afternoon.
Police report officers arriving to investigate gunfire around 3:30 p.m. at 47 Nazing St. spotted a man who matched the description witnesses gave of somebody spotted running from the scene:
The officer stopped the suspect as he was crossing over Blue Hill Avenue and performed a pat frisk which revealed a loaded handgun in his front jacket pocket. The suspect was then placed in custody without incident. The firearm was later revealed to be Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 which had been previously reported stolen in Connecticut.
Detrell Robinson, 21, of Dorchester, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm.
