Some people have all the luck - but not these two alleged dumbass bank robbers
Boston Police report they had little trouble arresting two suspects for two bank robberies Monday morning because the pair tried to get away in a taxi, only they got caught in downtown traffic.
Now, there's a reason the two hailed a cab instead of using their own getaway car after robbing the Santander Bank branch at 75 State St. about 25 minutes after robbing a bank at 389 Hanover St, police say.
Seems that around 1:10 a.m. on Monday, they were toodling around downtown in their own car in the area of Congress and Purchase when they rammed into the back of a car occupied by two BPD supervisors - returning to their station from post-Super Bowl duties in the Faneuil Hall area. Both cars had to be towed, and the driver, after admitting he was texting at the time, got a ticket for driving while texting.
So they had to switch to plan B - hailing a cab - after the bank robberies, police say:
As the suspects were booked, one officer recognized their names as the two men involved in the above motor vehicle crash that took place just a few hours prior.

The fact that you got into a car accident with the cops didn't convince you to postpone your bank-robbing plans for at least a day or two?
Okay, then.
