They get spit on, slapped around, victims of racial slurs and now they get shot at. When is management going to take these attacks seriously and where are the Transit Police
- To the other traffic around them (ex: stopping in the middle of the road rather than pulling over into the bus stop like they should; cutting vehicles and cyclists off just because they can)
- To some riders who have done nothing wrong
Not saying that they deserve to be verbally or physically assaulted in any way, but don't act like the bus drivers are always in the right. They are human, and many of them routinely act like complete a-holes
Their driving has gotten increasingly aggressive over the past few years. I would say that I am cut off by a bus or tailgated at least 3 or 4 times per week around the city.
If you worked a job where you were rude to, spit on, yelled at, pushed around, and more.. would you be the nicest person? Probably not.
Yet some of these drivers still manage to smile and be polite. I have no idea how they do it, I would have punched someone the first week on the job (which is why I passed when offered a bus driving position)
