Google maps plugin
What happened to it? I used to use it especially for posts like these
Yep, sorry!
What happened was Google decided to start charging for the sort of access I was using to put maps on individual stories. The first full month of billing was more than $400. Ouch. So I cut back to just using it on certain index pages (like this year's murders).
There's an open-source alternative that seems to work, but setting it up is way more convoluted than the Google Maps version, and I haven't had the time yet to try to get it working. But it's on my to-do list.
In the meantime, I should get better at remembering to at least provide a link to a Google map from stories like this.
