Teens were hanging out in the back of the Codman Square post office with loaded gun, stolen Bluebike, police say
Boston Police report arresting two teens on gun charges and a third on a charge of receiving stolen property behind the post office at 554 Washington St. Wednesday morning.
According to police, officers were dispatched around 9:45 a.m.:
Officer were informed by the operations dispatcher that a juvenile male was observed holding a firearm while in the company of two other juvenile males near the rear door of the Post Office. Due to the possibility of a weapon being present, officers pat frisked the males and immediately recover a loaded Walter PK380 firearm with one round in the chamber and 6 rounds in the magazine. one additional loose round fell to the ground for a total of eight rounds. The 14-year-old of Dorchester was also in possession of a Boston Bluebike which had been reported stolen.
A 17 year old, from Braintree, and a15 year old, from Providence, were charged with being delinquent for unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.

How do you steal one? I thought it locked out the hub when an unauthorized user tried to use it or something?

Alas no you are thinking of Lime or other dockless system. Often times people may return a bluebike and not pay attention to if it is fully docked, or sometimes they will leave it next to a station if its full. In those instances, enterprising folks will take advantage.
