Guy went for a ride down Morrissey Boulevard with a loaded gun, police say
Boston Police report officers who stopped a car on Morrissey Boulevard as part of a drug investigation Friday afternoon found the packaged marijuana they were looking for - and a loaded gun in the passenger's pocket.
Police say officers from the C-6 drug unit stopped Damion Johnston, 29, of Roxbury, on Morrissey Boulevard just past the old Globe plant around 1:30 p.m. on Friday and ordered both him and his passenger, Edilson Pinto, 18, of Dorchester, out of the car. On a pat frisk, police say, officers found "a loaded 9mm Springfield Armory XD-9 handgun" in Pinto's right jacket pocket. A search of the car then turned up "several small plastic bags of marijuana packaged for sale and more than $1,900 in U.S. Currency."
Both were charged with possession of Class D drugs with intent to distribute, police say. Pinto was additionally charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
Innocent, etc.
