Two shot, one dead on Walnut Park in Roxbury

Victim identified as Junior Pimentel De La Cruz, 27, of Dorchester.

Boston Police report two men were shot at 66 Walnut Park in Roxbury shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

One victim was declared dead at the scene, the other was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, police say.

Police say local officers and gang-unit members initially responded to the scene after the sound of gunfire activated the department's ShotSpotter system.

This is Boston's third murder this month.
