Back Bay medical assistant charged with second patient sexual attack
A medical assistant at the MGH Back Bay Health Center, 388 Commonwealth Ave., who was arrested last week on a charge he raped a patient in an exam room was arrested again today for sexually attacking another patient earlier in the month.
Damien Knighton, 39, already behind bars in lieu of $5,000 bail, was brought back into court for arraignment on a new charge of indecent assault and battery for an incident on Jan. 12, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
The patient in that case came forward after seeing reports about last week's case, the DA's office reports.
According to the DA's office, the patient
Said he was taken to an exam room where Knighton instructed him to remove his underwear in order to check his skin. The patient said Knighton examined his genitals, then left the room. After seeing his doctor, the patient, now dressed, was approached by Knighton, who asked if the doctor had performed a rectal exam. The patient said no. Knighton then led the patient back into an exam room and performed a rectal exam.
The DA's office urged anybody else who thinks they might have been similarly assaulted to contact the Boston Police sexual-assault unit at 617-343-4400.
Innocent, etc.
