Three teens charged with Mission Hill carjacking; nabbed after their new wheels got caught in traffic

Boston Police report arresting two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old on charges they used loaded guns to steal a car Thursday afternoon.

Police report the three showed guns to the owner of a Honda Accord at 75 St. Alphonsus St. around 4:15 p.m. and took off. Not long after, a police supervisor driving near the Heath Street rotary at the Mildred Hailey Apartments, about three-quarters of a mile away, spotted the car stuck in traffic a couple car lengths ahead of him, pointed towards Columbus Avenue.

For a ½ mile ride.

Maybe next time they will bikejack a bicycle instead as the lanes are free and clear for a getaway.

File this under a bumpah to bumpah captchah.

They'll have to dodge the Ubers, Amazon trucks and people who are just going in for a second I promise.

If you're willing to bike recklessly, in heavy traffic you can definitely evade a car. Bikes can slip through gaps and go over medians and up stairs and such.

In more prosaic circumstances, I enjoy being able to walk my bike past construction sites rather than take a long detour. Or, just get off and walk when there's a huge traffic jam.

(But you're also definitely not wrong about the bike lanes not being "clear"!)

This is when I see the good in Boston's traffic congestion.

Teenage thugs are getting ghost guns now; WTF? I hope they meant the serial numbers were filed off and not that the weapons were manufactured in someone's home workshop.
