Man whose car got shot up in Charlestown development is arrested two weeks later with a gun loaded with 14 rounds, police and DA say

A Charlestown man was arrested Sunday night on gun charges by officers who recognized his freshly repaired Audi as the one that had gotten shot up a couple weeks earlier on McNulty Court near Walford Way in Charlestown's Bunker Hill development, Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report.

David, Riley, 19, was arraigned today on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a loaded firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, possession of a large-capacity feeding device and possession of a Class E substance - a Xanax pill - the DA's office reports.

Charlestown Municipal Court Judge Lisa Grant ordered Riley held on $7,500 bail and that he wear a GPS tracker if released, with a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Police officers responded to McNulty Court on reports of gunfire around 12:25 a.m. on Sept. 10. Police eventually recovered 14 shell casings and two damaged cars, a red Lexus and a white Audi A4 with its windows and tires blown out, which they found near Riley's home about three blocks away on Carney Court and registered to him.

Around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, police and the DA's office say, officers on patrol spotted the Audi - its damage repaired - outside the 7-Eleven, 140 Main St. in Charlestown. According to the DA's office:

Officers immediately identified the individual in the driver seat as Riley. Officers observed Riley to be nervous. Officers ordered Riley to exit the vehicle and located under the driver’s seat a black semi-automatic 9mm Polymer 80 firearm with a light attachment with one round in the chamber and 13 rounds in the magazine. Officers also found a green pill, which they believed to be Xanax, in the center console.
