Teen charged with gunpoint robbery of Dorchester market
Boston Police report arresting a 15-year-old on charges he held up a convenience store at Park and Norwell streets in Dorchester last Wednesday.
Police say the teen, too young to have his name released, walked into the Park & Go Market around noon, lifted up his shirt and displayed a gun. The teen, clad in a black hoodie and black face mask, then took $600 from the register, ran out and discarded some of his clothes and his mask on Norwell Street, police say.
Police say officers spotted him walking in the area of Harvard Street and Vesta Road on Friday:
Officers exited their cruiser and attempted to speak with the suspect, who immediately took off running. Officers observed the suspect throw a firearm, and were quickly able to apprehend him in a nearby alley. Officers recovered two replica firearms from the suspect’s flight path.
He was charged with armed robbery while masked, police say.
