Two charged with gunpoint robbery of Charlestown convenience store

Boston Police report arresting a local and a guy from Wakefield on charges they held up the Star convenience store at 134 Bunker Hill St. in Charlestown shortly before 6:15 p.m. on Monday.

The suspects fled the area on Monument Street towards O’Reilly Way. Detectives responded to the scene and were able to obtain security camera footage. Detectives broadcasted a description of the suspects and disseminated a photo to officers working in the area.

Detectives advised responding officers that the two suspects were last seen running from the Bunker Hill Development towards 85 Medford Street. Officers canvassed the area and observed one of the suspects exit an apartment and placed him into handcuffs.

Officers knocked and announced their presence on the apartment door, and the second suspect answered. Officers were quickly able to handcuff the suspect, and the apartment was secured pending a search warrant.

Corey Roy, 40, of Charlestown, and Michael Dacey, 41, of Wakefield, were both charged with armed and masked robbery. Dacey was also charged with giving police a fake name.

Both men were ordered held without bail pending dangerousness hearings on Friday, according to records at Charlestown Municipal Court.
