Editor's note: Post updated to reflect fact victim was stabbed, not shot, and that the stabbing happened on the street.

Boston Police report a man was stabbed repeatedly on Washington Street near Columbus Avenue, around 8:25 p.m.

According to police, two men came up to the victim and stabbed him. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after getting himself into Egleston Pizza to seek help.

Boston Police report a man trying to evade getting arrested on several warrants in Egleston Square around 10:30 this morning was hit by the same car that hit the officer as the two ran across Washington Street. Read more.

The Boston Fire Department report a three-alarm fire at 3118 Washington St. that broke out shortly before 5 p.m. caused an estimated $1 million in damage both to that building and to a nearby building on Weld Avenue. Read more.

David Delacruz, 31, pleaded guilty last week to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a disabled person, assault and battery for the purposes of intimidation, and violation of a victim’s civil rights for an incident in 2017 in which he knocked a woman out of her wheelchair, then stabbed her repeatedly, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Boston and Transit Police are investigating how a man wound up stabbed and on an inbound Orange Line train that pulled into Back Bay around 10 p.m.

The man was stabbed at 10 Atherton St. in Egleston Square, then walked to Jackson Square - where he got on the T.

Transit Police report the driver of a 44 bus didn't stop for a flashing red light at Columbus Avenue and Washington Street around 5:45 a.m. and ran into a BPS school bus already in the intersection. Read more.

KMV reports a man was shot on Westminster Avenue near Washington Street early this morning. Somebody put him in a car and wound up at Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street, where police were investigating an unrelated crash. EMTs were summoned, the man was taken to the hospital in bad shape - the homicide unit was called in due to the severity of his injuries.

Boston Restaurant Talk reports the Gate on Washington Street in Egleston Square has closed its doors, barely 11 months after it opened as a replacement for the shuttered James's Gate on South Street.

The building housing the Gate was posted for sale today.

A man walked into the McDonald's on American Legion Highway in Roslindale around 2:45 p.m., ordered some chicken, then grabbed money out of the register and fled. About ten minutes later, a man walked into the McDonald's on Washington Street in Egleston Square and pulled the same stunt. Read more.

The Board of Appeal today approved the Elizabeth Stone House's proposal for a 32-unit apartment building at 3012 Washington St., on the Roxbury side of Egleston Square, in which all the units would be rented as affordable. Read more.

WBZ reports on the incident this afternoon on School Street - in which a police officer fired a shot at the fleeing gunman's car, a white Audi, after the driver backed into him. He was not seriously injured.
