Live Boston reports that Boston police officers responding to a report of gunfire at 3114 Washington St., near School Street in Engleston Square, around 7:15 p.m on Saturday didn't find anybody with fresh bullet holes but did find "a large illegal gaming operation in the basement" of the VIP Barbershop.
Detectives were called to the scene as well as Boston Fire and Inspectional Services for numerous code and safety violations
Construction crews have been busy in recent months building new bus stops between Egleston and Jackson squares for dedicated bus lanes and stops that planners say will mean a faster ride to and from Jackson Square and Ruggles on the 22, 29 and 44 bus routes. Read more.
Boston Police report officers responding to a report of a man with a gun on Washington Street in Egleston Square yesterday found the man inside a barbershop there, along with a gun loaded with five bullets, and five more bullets and one large bag and a couple dozen smaller bags all filled with "a brown powder believed to be heroin." On June 10, I posted that a man had been shot at Egleston Pizza on Washington Street in Egleston Square. In fact, he had been stabbed several times on the sidewalk outside and only went into the pizza place to seek help. Read more.

Boston Police report a man was stabbed repeatedly on Washington Street near Columbus Avenue, around 8:25 p.m.
According to police, two men came up to the victim and stabbed him. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after getting himself into Egleston Pizza to seek help.
