We get the scoop: Ice-cream monopoly to end in Rozzie Square
By adamg on Tue, 04/14/2009 - 6:24pm
Of course, I had to rush home to dish up this news: Roslindale Square is getting another ice-cream place. Jimmies, opening soon on Corinth Street, next to Imperial Kitchen, will also serve food on buns.
Currently, Roslindale residents who need ice cream have to travel down to Belgrade for Select Cafe, the former Emack and Bolios. The cafe, which is more of a coffeehouse that serves ice cream, is currently redecorating a bit - and no longer requires people to ask for a key at the counter for the restroom.

Just in time for Rozzie Beach season!
I saw that the other day with my kids. We are very excited. Is it just me, or does it seem like a beach shop, what with the ice cream and lobster roll theme?
All we need now
Is a store selling sunglasses, Coppertone and inflatable beach toys and we're all set.
Well, and a beach ...
Turtle Pond?
Does that count?
If the store were a bit more
If the store were a bit more colorful, would they change their name to Sprinkles?
Nope! Read the Parkway
Nope! Read the Parkway Transcript this week for an explanation of the name by owner Donna Cabral. "Jimmies" is a New England thing! Everywhere else they're "sprinkles" - came from a donation being made for every ice cream sold in "olden days" generating a donation to the famouse Jimmy Fund.
Can't wait for it to open!
the store is very colorful
have you been there, great colors, clean, and great prices. Finally a place where the prices are great and so is the service.
