And then sat there for almost two hours, with no power and so no AC and increasingly overheated passengers complaining about the lack of any communication from the crew about what the hell was happening. The Michaels Organization of Marlton, NJ yesterday filed a letter of intent with the BPDA to build two six-story residential buildings at 40 Rugg Road on land now occupied by some low-slung commercial and warehouse space. Read more.
Roving UHub photographer Michael Halle was on hand to watch a train pull out of the new Boston Landing station on the Worcester Line this morning. New Balance paid for the station, which services both its large development along Guest Street and the rest of Brighton, which hadn't seen commuter-rail service in decades.
Gintautas Dumcius reports that after creating an uproar yesterday with new schedules saying the new Boston Landing station would be in Zone 1 - and then compounding that by replying on Twitter to angered commuters that that was the case - the T says this morning the station will, in fact, be in Zone 1A. UPDATE: After telling commuters last night that the new Worcester Line schedule, showing Zone 1, was correct, the T this morning said, oops, no, Boston Landing will be in Zone 1A.
The good news is that the new Boston Landing station on the Worcester Line opens for service on May 22. The bad news is that it's been put in Zone 1, which means it'll cost $6.25 for a ride between there and Back Bay or South Station.
