Drive an hour and come up for the day. Enjoy Rockport, then stay a bit late. The Rockport Legion Band will present the sixth concert in its 2010 concert series on the band stand at Rockport's Back Beach.
Jason Howard leads the band this week. Planned music includes selections from both "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Dances with Wolves"; marches by Hall, Sousa, Jewell, and Huff; a suite of ballet music by Jacques Offenbach; song medleys by Vincent Youmans and Johnny Mercer; plus some swing, ragtime, Italian songs and show tunes from Broadway.

The Band performs at the Back Beach Bandstand in Rockport. All concerts in this 77th Summer Season begin at 7:00 P.M.and are free, as always. Please bring your own seating and some money for popcorn and tonic. Copies of the RLB CD will also be available.

For those of you that will be looking for an escape from the heat this coming weekend, we'd like to invite you up to cooler Cape Ann for the opening program of our seventy-seventh summer season of free outdoor concerts.
Sunday, July 11 at 7:00 P.M. the Rockport Legion Band will present a concert that includes marches (both well-known and obscure), Broadway show music, a Classical overture (Mozart!), and a few surprises.
Come on up, bring a blanket or some chairs and enjoy a small-town New England evening.

Musicians wanted for Fourth of July Parade and/or concert in Rockport. This is an open call for concert band musicians to join in the festivities If you like to parade (in a clown suit), come on up.
