Kathryn Kinzel photographed the LMA shuttle bus that caught fire around 4:30 p.m. on Avenue Louis Pasteur, which was shut down as firefighters doused the bus.

I wonder if this is the LMA
I wonder if this is the LMA bus they run that has been belching black smoke for 2+ years. It's ironic that a group of hospitals outsourced their buses to a company that runs poorly maintained buses that spew carcinogens ...
unintended irony
Check out the top of the bus just to the right of the scorching and goes on behind the bus shelter...no truth in advertising.
The drivers of these shuttles
The drivers of these shuttles race around boston with disregard to anyone. A person was killed by one at the corner of Huntington last winter. I would guess that they are poorly paid - most are immigrants who don't speak English very well. Probably poorly trained as well.
The Herald comment section is thattaway
How extremely racist and dehumanizing of you. The person killed wasn't disrespected, the way you disrespect these drivers. Simin Arad stepped out in front of the moving bus that had a green light. The driver even tried to stop and avoid hitting her but couldn't in time.
Adam should delete your comment for being both insulting and completely ignorant of reality...but then, years from now when someone knows that you used to use the name "Squiggy" online, I want them to find this and be able to link it to you.
Jaywalking Pedestrians Get Themselves Killed
They don't have forcefields around them - and the buses can't stop if they don't have the stopping distance. Reality is a real pain sometimes.
Speaking of reality, I rode these buses when I worked in the LMA, and I can't remember a single non-native English speaker driving them. It was mostly older guys - some black, some white, some Asian - who had been driving for a while and wanted lighter duty/better hours or simply to be closer to home than driving charter buses long haul.
