Hey, Chicago Tribune: Make up your frickin' mind about whether you love us or hate us
On the one hand, the Globe of the Midwest runs a sweet story about how Chicagoans and Bostonians are really more family members than people who have an innate hatred for each other - we're both have guys in tuxedos starting our hockey games, we both have waterfronts, we both have lots of rich people who give money to charity (really). The story features quotes from Bostonians living in Chicago and a professor who teaches classes at both BU and the University of Chicago.
On the other hand, remember that poignant, seemingly heartfelt tribute to Boston after the Marathon bombings about how we're all one city? Well, screw that, the Tribune says.
If the Bruins win tonight, how about we call the Tribune - 800-874-2863 - and see if Owen is around?

No Offense Taken On My Part
I thought it was pretty funny. I'm sure the actual sentiment is still one of compassion, when push comes to shove. It's just a cute way to express the competitiveness for the next week or two.
Having said that, I'm all for resurrecting Owen, also. All fun is fun is fun!

I'm okay with this
Oh come on, BostonInno et al., man up a bit.
It was their tribute to us that they were tearing up. That's a damn bit different than "Toronto Stronger" (how'd that work out for them anyways?). They weren't making fun of us with it, they were announcing an end to the truce because we're scheduled to go to war with each other.
I told my Pittsburgh friends this two weeks ago. They were dead to me from June 1 to June 7 (June 12, if necessary). They knew what I meant.
I would have told my Chicago friends that too this week...but I don't have any friends in Chicago because Chicago sucks.
