Man shot in Cambridge

UPDATE: The Herald reports he died.

Around 10 p.m. in the area of Windsor and Harvard streets. Cambridge Police report the victim was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, add:

A black sedan was reported leaving Windsor Street towards Main Street.

While the investigation is still extremely active, investigators do not consider this incident to be a random event and do not believe there is an ongoing risk to the general public at this time.

I was there with him before the paramedics took him I knew this man since he was a little boy and he will be missed. RIP we love u.

While bicycling from the Somerville fireworks to the Boston show, I found Windsor Street (between Harvard and Washington) totally saturated with police vehicles around 10:10 pm. A cop stopped me and diverted my bike into the adjoining housing project. When I returned from the fireworks around 10:45, the street was closed off with police tape (and I had to divert into the project again).

A teenage girl was killed in a drive-by a block away a couple years ago...still unsolved
