They're in West Roxbury as well
Building a leaky pipeline near the quarry.
With respect, the scammers in the case
of the pipeline are the people who, despite having no expertise in natural gas or pipeline engineering, continue to perpetuate the fallacy that the transfer station will blow up and destroy the CIty of Boston with a huge explosion.
The worst part is that these NIMBYs won't even bother to provide tangilble facts to support their fear-mongering claims. "We think this will happen just because there's a quarry there" is not enough.
No
I'm pretty sure the scammers in the case are the people entering homes on a false premise.
Your pet cause may be accurate, but let's not ignore the home invasions, ok.
I was referring to the comment
about those building the pipeline. Have clarified my post.
Pretty rich to drop the NIMBY
Pretty rich to drop the NIMBY pejorative here as if people opposing desperately needed affordable housing near their home is morally equivalent to people opposing a high-pressure natural gas line near a blasting quarry. Sure thing.
With respect,
Do you work for Spectra?
I don't understand why you would want to defend their placement of a high-pressure pipeline in a densely populated neighborhood, including the M & R Station directly across from an active quarry.
Gas leaks there are a valid concern. There have been gas leaks from the low-pressure pipelines there for years, possibly due to the way the ground shakes each time the quarry blasts.
National Grid is there again today, attempting to fix gas leaks.
I know those are old pipes. I don't know that the new ones will fare any better, and do think that there must be someplace safer than across from the quarry.
I also know that the gas in the high-pressure pipeline does not have any odor, the way the existing low-pressure pipelines do, so there will be no warning if there is a gas leak.
No, I don't want that in my front yard. I don't want that in anyone's front yard.
I don't understand why you
I don't work for Spectra, and I've been defending the pipeline. Because this is empty fearmongering. Because I can't stand people who think they should be able to tell nearby property owners what to do with their own property ("NIMBY"-type stuff). Because there's no actual evidence this pipeline is going to be dangerous. I'm sure I can think of more reasons.
Lol, good one. Scammers
Lol, good one. Scammers pretending to be scammers.
So there's actual empirical
So there's actual empirical evidence that their brand new pipeline is "leaky"? Or this is just fearmongering?
Last summer they were in
Last summer they were in Dorchester on my street almost every other week and were very persistent. Sometimes they would stay at my door knocking for over 15 minutes.
They wanted to see if you were home
before they broke in.
They were around JP in the
They were around JP in the summer.
the first clue to this scam is that...
...Eversource is actually showing up on a schedule.
After refusing to give him my bill, I kept asking him to give me
a phone number so i could call and give my info over the phone. He finally relented and gave me a number and told me to talk to Dimitri. He left and I Googled the number. It was a phone somewhere Russia.
I know dmitri
He helped me fix my windows computer
What's the scam here? What do
What's the scam here? What do they accomplish by seeing a copy of your utility bill?
Personal information
Address, name, account numbers, etc.
One Power Company To Rule Them All
They try to trick you into signing up for their fly-by-night energy company rather than the sketchy one you have now. Often with deceptive rates that skyrocket shortly after signing up, or being signed up against your will.
In principle [if you're not bothered by soliciting in general, which I am extremely opposed to] it's part of the fairness of competition agreement utilities were forced into. However, I would rather see one nationalized utility with no competition but no price gouging because its federalized.
