Green meteor flashes across sky; still no walking carnivorous plants
Shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday, Eric Ballard asked:
Anyone see a greenish meteor go across the NE sky just a few minutes ago?
And, sure enough:
@omiceric @universalhub @jreineron7 YES!! I did in the North End!

@omiceric @universalhub @jreineron7 Thought I was crazy before, but I've seen meteors that big in the past. It was beautiful.

@gwennasaurus @universalhub @jreineron7 we were skeptical too but it seemed like it couldn't be anything else and be that bright in the city

@omiceric @universalhub @jreineron7 @Benoitelectric saw it in Bangor Maine, right above our heads. Amazing.

I didn't see any walking carnivorous plants
But I did see a few people taken out by giant walking tripods shooting heat lasers.
Absolutely loved John Christopher's
tripod trilogy. Thirtysomething years later, and I still remember it.
And
Hundredsomething years later, people still remember H.G. Wells.
Who?
;)
I'm sure
I'm sure the '50s movie version threw people off, with its distinct lack of tripods.
The '05 version brought them back.
There's an '05 version?
But so often, the book is better than any movie.
The book still stands
and I would love to see a movie version set in the same time period as the book.
And the Mercury Theatre radio version is a good listen
There is even a radio version done in Buffalo in the late sixties that is best remembered for the commercials.

Sometimes fast moving on schedule Red Line trains are
mistaken for meteors.
Meteor
