Roslindale murder suspect arrested in West Bridgewater while violating a restraining order there, police say
West Bridgewater Police report arresting an armed Akil Jackson on a variety of charges - including murder for the gunshot death of his girlfriend Alicia Heywood in the parking lot of her Roslindale Square workplace on July 29.
Police say that around 1:30 p.m. officers responded to a local address on a report of a person "in distress."
Responding units quickly arrived identified the suspect and took him into custody without incident. While taking the suspect into custody, responding officers removed a loaded 9mm semi automatic handgun. The handgun seized from the suspect was discovered to be stolen out of Georgia.
In addition to the Roslindale murder charges, police charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm and violation of a restraining order.
Boston Police say Jackson killed Heywood outside Sullivan Pharmacy, where she worked. Heywood grew up in Hyde Park, but was living with Jackson in Easton at the time of her murder.

Glad they got him
I was worried he had gotten away. From what I've heard Alicia was a great person. This was a cruel and cowardly act.
Any details on who had the restraining order?
This guy has got quite a history.
