Fuel tanker, car crash on McLellan Highway, erupt in flames; car driver taken away with serious burns

Live Boston reports on the 3 a.m. crash on Rte. 1A. The tanker driver was able to escape the resulting fire unharmed; the car driver was trapped until Boston firefighters arrived and got her out.

I’m sorry for the poor woman, but this happened at 3am and yet it took me and others 55 minutes to traverse the surrounding block at 8:30am.
People were turning around and joining traffic in the other direction because it was unclear where we’d encounter the issue.
