Boston waking up? Board to consider cereal-infused desserts until 3 a.m. in Brighton, and Whoppers around the clock in East Boston
The Boston Licensing Board next week considers requests by restaurant owners at opposite ends of the city to open into the wee hours.
In Brighton's Oak Square, the owner of the currently closed Day and Night Cereal Bar, 6 Tremont St., hopes to re-open with a new name of Sweet & Comfy - and with new hours that would keep the cereal crunching until 3 a.m.
Across the harbor, in East Boston's Orient Heights, meanwhile, the owner of the Burger King at 944 Bennington St. wants to ditch its current 2 a.m. closing time and keep flinging the burgers and fries 24 hours a day. The hearing notice does not specify if the fast-food place wants to open for eat-in service 24 hours a day or if it would only be open in the earliest of early morning hours for delivery pickup.

We're gonna whop, gonna whop around the clock tonight
No longer have to go to Allston...
...for the nocturnal flakes.
Locally, some detractors of
Locally, some detractors of the dessert place are upset about the 3am time due to…noise? Parking? Delivery drivers? I’m not really sure. The business is surrounded by other businesses so what residences would customers realistically be bothering. They just don’t think anything needs to be open that late. I say let the business give it a try, if they don’t get enough traffic then they can close earlier.

Will gyms be open 24x7
To offset this new infusion of body lard?
There is a 24-hour gym
In Boston's 24-hour neighborhood: Roslindale.
It's on Washington Street, right across from the 24-hour Dunk's and just down the street from the 24-hour Best of Boston gas station (no, not making a comment about the quality of its gas - that's its name).
I'm pretty sure that BK has a drive-thru
So I'd imagine the dining room would close when it does now but the drive-thru would stay open 24 hours.
