Sifu Tweety videoed a ride on the new community path along the Green Line Extension in Somerville today and set it to "Roadrunner."

Nice tribute. Has anyone ever figured out how many different versions of Roadrunner Jonathan Richman has sung? Me personally; I like the one that was released to AM radio but it seems like every time he performs it it's a different version.

That's Jonathan! I like this version as it's the perfect example of why Roadrunner needs to be the MA state rock and roll song--has all parts of the state.
Beautiful bike path
Could do without the graffiti on the walls. Hopefully the city of Somerville does a better job of removing the vandals art crimes than the MBTA which ignores it like every other crime.
Commission murals for these walls?
That's the best way to prevent graffiti. But it would need to be done in a way that doesn't interfere with train traffic.
Curious who owns the walls
Obviously the walls next to the tracks are MBTA. But for fences between the path and private residences, are the fences owned by the property owner? Who would cover the clean up tags and/or commission murals?
There are a lot of great places for them along the path.

Graffiti is hardly a problem
Graffiti is hardly a problem and on a list of things to fix/beautify I would prioritize greenery over graffiti... The path is great but it's very industrial with no trees at all.
I also think the mbta has handed responsibility over to the city now so wouldn't be the mbta anyway...
Industrial area is gonna look industrial
I mean, it meanders along an active four track rail right of way, over branching junctions, a rail yard, and past a bunch of factories. This is not going to look bucolic. If you want that, try one of the many other Boston area trails built on no longer active rights of way, such as the Minuteman, Northern Strand, or Neponset Greenway. As for me, I really enjoy seeing the back side of urban life, and this trail is a great way to access such views.
I particularly liked the irony at 1:36…
…when the electric unicycle and scooter pass by just as a “ No motorized vehicles” sign comes into view.
And while aware that editing can erase a multitude of sins, I appreciate that Sifu Tweety appears to have been quite conscientious about when and how closely they passed folks (a couple other cyclists, not so much).
