Yoon to McCrea: Quack, quack
By adamg on Fri, 10/09/2009 - 8:08pm
Last week the potential deputy mayor told the Jamaica Plain Gazette that Kevin McCrea didn't get any more votes than Donald Duck would have. Oh, and Floon joked about the number of public-records and open-meeting complaints filed by McCrea - including, you know, the lawsuit against the City Council, Michael Flaherty, president, that McCrea won:
"We'll create a position called the Division of Kevin McCrea Information Requests," Yoon joked. Flaherty quickly added that a better name would be "McFOIA."
Guess what? McCrea tells the paper this week that Yoon called to apologize after the remarks showed up on the paper's Web site.

Whoa.
Sort of makes you wonder how seriously Floon take this whole Kineavy thing after all. "Records, schmecords..."
Maybe we should just eliminate the position of mayor- have a town meeting and a city-manager type thing.
Dumbasses
Well, Yoon, too bad Flaherty's name ISN'T Donald Duck, because he could probably use McCrea's "screw you" votes in order to beat Menino. Way to go out of your way to piss off those "screw you" people. You are ALREADY acknowledging that they have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to you politicians...and then you're going to go and rattle their cages with jokes at their expense?
Smooth. Really smooth.
I'd liked what Yoon had to say
right up until now when Yoon gratuitously mocked a defeated opponent and treated him without respect.
Great way to get rid of the
Great way to get rid of the "young and inexperienced" talk, Sam.
Yoon
Where was he when he made these comments, on a fund raiser in San Francisco?
what about Flaherty's remarks in that article?
saying that Menino can't be a "progressive" because he's "almost 70" (66). Wonder what Teddy wouild have thought of that.
of course, Michael's not a progressive anyway, as we knw from his record on tenant's rights, Open Meeting Law, shutting off Councilors Arroyo and Yancey and preserving big tax exemptions for Verizon.
Perhaps someone should point
Perhaps someone should point out to the unctuous Mr. Yoon that both his and Flaherty's vote total each was closer to McRae's than to Menino's. So does that make them Goofy?
Yoon and Flaherty may be laughing...
...but they're definitely not doing it all the way to the bank.
Take a look at Flaherty's OCPF filings since 9/29 - the day he announced with Yoon, creating the widely publicized "Floon" team.
I haven't added it up, but it's well below $10K. I would think that if Sam's people were really excited about the pairing, they would have rushed to max out to Flaherty's committee, no?
I mean, we're at three weeks to go, Floon. Who's laughing now?
Hacks Day Out on the Blogs
It's good to see the city hall hacks out on the blogs.
Menino is the guy who said that Kevin McCrae was lying throughout the campaign. He's the one who said that all his opponents didn't care about Boston. McCrae is a smart, thoughtful person who ran an impressive race and brought much of the corruption issues that are dominating this race to the forefront.
Why don't you all go and shred some public records?
agreed that McCrae brought good issues to the table
but the point remains, it was Yoon who made the nasty remark, so who's mean spirited now?
sore loser ....
