Jamaica Plain Patch reports on a late-night incident at Stony Brook station in which four riders teamed up to capture and detain an alleged cell-phone thief - despite some punches from the guy's accomplices.

That is so great! The little scumbag lives at 783 Washington Street. I can't find it on Google maps. Is it near Forest Hills Station?

Forest Hills is in the 3000s.

That address could be in downtown Boston, or in Brighton, or in Dorchester, or possibly a few other less obvious places.

I think that's great. But there's a poll on the Jamaica Plain Patch page and I was surprised to see a majority of people said they would react the same way. I'm pretty confident I'd jump to someone's defense in most cases in which they're being harmed. But I'm not sure a stolen cell phone is important enough to warrant risking a possible stabbing or worse.
