A guy on Boylston St. tried printing his parking meter sticker but it's blank. Ink is frozen.

It's so cold, J. Tammaro reports from Park Street:

Sob Story Guy has changed his story to he needs a jacket at the goodwill on Harrison ave

3F (temp in my neighborhood when I got up) is about -16C

So cold that my "little bear" of a younger son actually wore a jacket and a hat.

So cold that I actually warmed up my car for 10 minutes before driving anywhere.

So cold that my husband and I actually drove on a sunny day.

Here on Beacon Hill, it's so cold that the politicians have their hands in their own pockets.

In re: to the parking meter situation

Fun fact: pretty much all POS printers (the most common being receipt printers in stores) do not use any ink at all. They use a process called (direct) thermal printing where the paper is specially treated to react to heat. It was likely too cold for the heat to properly thermally print his sticker and not a case of frozen ink.
