Our world-class city poised to get even world classier with later-night pizza delivery in the Fenway

The Boston Licensing Board decides today whether to let the Domino's at 1260 Boylston St. extend its delivery time from 3 to 4 a.m.
William Mohan, director of licensing for Domino's in Boston, started a hearing today by welcoming the all new Boston Licensing Board and declaring how happy he was that Mayor Walsh's statement on his purge of the old board members said the new board was part of new push toward economic opportunity across the city.
Because, Mohan said, Domino's is all about the economic opportunity, both for its workers and for the "tens of thousands of people who work late night in the city of Boston who have no opportunity for hot food unless it's delivered."
Domino's already has a 24-hour delivery service on Mission Hill, but Mohan said the extra hour at the Fenway outlet would let it better serve Longwood Medical Area staffers, along with other Bostonians who staff ambulances, nursing homes and hotels.
Mohan noted that 4 a.m. delivery would complement the "world-class," late-night subway service Boston now has on Fridays and Saturdays. "Yes, they do need transportation, but they also need food," he said of our city's world-class third shifters.
Mayor Walsh and city councilors Steve Murphy and Josh Zakim supported the proposal. City councilors Sal LaMattina and Tito Jackson also sent reps to endorse the proposal. The Domino's is not in their district, but they appreciate the community work done by the owner of the Fenway franchise at his locations in Charlestown and Roxbury.

If that were the case
I wouldn't be able to complain at all! GF lives in Fenway, and coincidentally, we ordered on the night in question because it was the only thing we could think of that would be open that late.

They don't deliver. Kelley's is open until 1AM, but I'm not sure if they deliver until then. However, it's probably best to take whatever the mastication version of a cold shower is if your option is Domino's at 3AM. I lived within walking distance of that Fenway Domino's for 5.5 years, and never considered it. If I needed a pizza post-bars, I'd just grab a frozen one from Shaw's.
That said, people who order from the Domino's in Eastie when KSP, Dacoopas, Dough, or Italian Express are open should be exiled to the suburbs to make room for those that can appreciate eating things that aren't hot circles of garbage.

Honestly, neither have I. I just threw it in there because it's another place that's not Domino's. Late Sunday night pizza cravings in Eastie are tough, though...*shakes fist at Domino's fancy online ordering system*

Oh, you should try the pizza. It's just as good as the sandwiches. Almost (ALMOST) makes me wish I still lived in Eastie.

Back when the Ramrod was something fun to go to, and not over run by tweens and college kids, we used to buy the pizza next door at the "Home Run Deli" or as we called it "the homo deli". Of course that pizza is ONLY good when you're drunk, disgusting any other time.
Domino's is OK in a pinch.. but I hate myself the next day.
When it comes down to it
in this case it was two twenty somethings that have been out all night (which is extremely rare for us, we're like an old couple) wanting drunk food. Cheap, convenient, and doesn't require us to leave the apt..and also the only thing closely we could think of delivering that late. Also worth noting that we're both Upstate NY natives, which comes with the stereotypical pizza snobbery. We knew what we were doing, and hated ourselves for it too :)

Always wanted to but dont dare too in fear of it being gross. Sometimes I want food after midnight, and they are the only deal that delivers across the bridge to me in Chelsea.

I just get flyers for Canton Eatery (now I remember the name) all the time. Just curious to know if it was any good or just over fried, MSG loaded, food.

Their all-day specials are where it's at. Most of them are around $10 even if you include an appetizer, you get a ton of food, and as far as Chinese takeout goes, it's pretty damn good.
That's been the fallback once
That's been the fallback once Hong Kong Harbor closes. I usually order crab rangoons, and HKH's are more samosa-shaped than wonton-shaped (actual pic from Yelp), so there's a lot less extra crispy dough to get in the way of the good stuff.
Tasteless
When I first moved to Eastie I figured that I'd be swinging past Hong Kong Harbor on the way home a couple of times per month. Nope. I don't know what they do to make their stuff so tasteless, but it's astonishing. I think half of their clientele are burned-out drunks relaxing after a long day of asking for quarters in front of Clipper Ship and Dunkin'.
I walk down Meridian to Canton Eatery on Meridian. About the only thing they screw up is wonton soup. If there's an even better place I'd like to know.

... the rest of the week, they're open until 2:00 AM. I don't think they deliver at all.

Isn't that the whole point
You order a pizza for dinner (or late night munchies) and have the leftovers - cold - for breakfast the next day.

The worst pizza I ever had in my life was about 10 years ago from an Indian place in San Francisco that made "regular" pizza that tasted exactly like the late, unlamented Pizza Pad with a dash of curry- I only ever got Pizza Pad when it was open because my school's meal plan was tied into it

Our worst pizza ever was in Oxford (UK) in 1979. And we didn't even try the (presumably) worst item on the menu -- a cheddar cheese and corn pizza. (Our neighbors at the restaurant tried it -- as a whim -- and pronounced it disgusting. We were famished this day -- and even so the pizza was dreadful. (couldn't find anyplace else to eat that was cheap enough -- except a hamburger place -- Wimpy's probably).
CORN PIZZA!!
I saw that on a pizza buffet in London with some bandmates in the 90s. None of us was whimsical enough to try it but it made quite an impression and we joked about it for a long time afterwards.

One of my favorite pizzas recently was just south of Oxford in Abingdon. As they describe it: The Carolina topping combines mouthwatering BBQ sauce, chicken breast strips, smoked bacon rashes, onions, tomatoes, crispy onions and a drizzling of mustard mayo, to create the perfect all-American pizza. Ironically, it was from a UK Domino's.

Back then, one's best bet for food (both tastiness and price) were Indian/Pakistania restaurants. Chinese was second best, but usually more expensive. Most "English food" was pretty poor -- and English versions of American food were truly awful.

There was a place in Kenmore that served "British food" and had strange English notions of pizza that sound like this.
