I can't comment on the quality of the product, but this name choice seems bound to become dated, much like when every other business was named Planet Something.

True, but it's a pop-up, so it's only here for Dec. Also, within lunch radius of my work, so as a bagel aficionado, will be trying ASAP.

n/t

Good location to "pop up" since the Finagle A Bagel that was located right across the street is temporarily closed (they knocked down their entire building.)

What's that?

Start Market is next to Stop (and Shop) Market, clearly.

Adam is old. He's still using the name of the grocery store chain that Shaws bought and rebranded in order to ditch the "Star" name which was not well regarded due to low quality and high prices.

Star's back, man. Because Shaws has the same problem, only worse, and enough people have forgotten or never known Star.

I was making a joke that now the Star brand, which used to be thought to be subpar, is considered better then what Shaws has become. They are hoping people forget the reason why the dropped the Star name in the first place.

It shows just how pathetic that supermarket chain has become. They can change names all they want but the quality and prices just keep getting worse.

Ok, I'll try to appreciate that. But your internet joke tone needs work, man.

:)

I know.. but Adam wrote "Start" not "Star" ;)

Or as we say in Boston.. its Stah Mahkit.

My first experience in learning the nuances of a Boston accent was hearing the cashier at CVS announce... "Did anyone lose a Stah Mahket Cahd? A Stah Mahket Cahd?"

Blecch. Fixed.

We still love you Adam!!!!

OMG sold their bagels at the Newton Farmers' Market all summer—my daughter loved them.

Russo's in Watertown has OMG! bagels pretty regularly (every day?). They're pretty good, although a little large.

I get mine at the Whole Paycheck in JP. Having cut my teeth on New Jersey bagels, I say the size is just fine (and the quality).

I've had them -- picked them up at Whole Paycheck in Wayland and the Wayland Farmer's Market. The best I can say about them is "meh." A good bagel is chewy. These aren't.

If you're shopping at the Chestnut Hill Star, then drive three miles or so to Rosenfeld's in Newton Centre. Now THOSE are bagels.

if they want to leverage some cred?

that opened World Star Bagels in mattapan?

i mean really, WTF.
