Boston motorcycle cop hurt in crash involving Italian prime minister's motorcade

A BPD officer providing escort service for Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi was injured in a crash on O'Brien Highway in front of the Museum of Science this morning.
The Secret Service tweeted it is "praying for the speedy recovery" of officer James Scopa.
Police had initially identified the motorcade as belonging to Hillary Clinton, in town for a fundraiser, but later updated to say it was a motorcade for the Italian prime minister.

The secret service provides protection to all the top runners in the presidential campaign. Bernie, Clinton, Trump, Rubio, etc...they all get it.

Rubio never had secret service protection.
Candidates have to apply for service protection and USSS approves/denies their request based upon perceived threats and likelihood of their candidacy.
Trump and Carson got it in October (and there was a lot of debate about whether Carson should lose it after his campaign entered zombie mode).
Hillary has it by virtue of being FLOTUS (and has had it since 1992 and will have it for the rest of her life, or until she relinquishes it).
Bernie got his right around the IA Caucus this year.
Cruz and Kasich don't have secret service at the current time. Neither have any other Republicans so far (aside from the two mentioned above).

My armenian peeps have been chatting nonstop about the visit of Armenia's president to Harvard and area churches. When I first heard of this motorcycle escort accident I was worried that the officer was part of the motorcade that was escorting him around. The local Armenian community would have been devastated if an officer had got hurt as part of that visit.
The Italian prime minister is also in town
So plenty of traffic jams to go around.
