Man disappointed with refrigerator delivery gets out rifle and orders delivery guys to leave, police say

Boston Police report arresting a Mission Hill man on charges he pointed a rifle at two refrigerator-delivery guys to get them to leave his apartment, police say.

Police provided this account of what happened around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at 2 Folsom Ave.:

When the delivery men attempted to deliver the fridge, the two male residents became upset when it was discovered that the new appliance was not the same size as the old refrigerator. One of the male residents then emerged from a room with what was described to officers as an “AK-47 style assault rifle,” pointed and racked the firearm at the delivery men, and yelled at them to get out of the house. The delivery men fled the premise as officers arrived.

Later that evening, officers armed with a search warrant found: An unloaded rifle, two revolvers and 67 rounds of ammunition.

John Mahoney, 48, was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of ammunition.
