Guy from Boston can't stop sale of radio station from Boston he's suing
A federal judge has rejected a request by Joe Ligotti, who briefly did the morning drive-time show on WMEX in 2015, to block the possible sale of the station, which went off the air on June 30.
Ligotti, who is suing the station's owner for the way he says he was terminated less than a month after he started, filed a request in US District Court in Boston earlier this month for a temporary restraining order to block Daly XXL Communications from selling the station while his suit remains pending.
In a ruling today, Judge F. Dennis Saylor denied Ligotti's request, but did order Daly XXL to notify him ten days before any actual sale.
Ligotti said the company is offering the station, which he claims is worth $3 million, for a fire-sale $1.25 million. In a filing with the FCC, Daly XL said it was looking for a new antenna site for the station, which first got a license in 1934.

If you got fired from a radio station that no one
listened to, did you really get fired. Someone needs to understand that the 15 minutes expired 10 years ago.
They bought the station for
They bought the station for $175k; not sure what they will get for it now. If they can't get a new transmitter site and return to the air the license could be cancelled. So they're worth as much as $3M?
