The lines don't seem to start as early as they used to

The first people we could speak to in line at the Dedham Best Buy tonight only got there around 5 p.m. - to get an Xbox and to, as one of them said, meet some new people and enjoy the cold weather. They were the ones behind the guy scrunched up in the tent, who had no desire to speak to a reporter.

Line outside Burlington BB was around the building
When I stopped by at 11:30 PM, and then turned around and went home. Surely they wouldn't have 100+ Sharp 50" 4k TVs at $179.99 ($320 off). Game consoles a distant 2nd as bargains.
Ludicrous!
I mean, seriously!! This is just absolutely crazy. I had to go down to Bird and Reptile Connection, down in East Walpole, MA, to pick up Aziza, my pet Congo African Grey Parrot, whom I'd boarded down there while I "burned off" my brand-new oven. Fortunately, I went in mid-morning, before the traffic got too bad. On the way home, however, by the time I got on the Southeast Expressway, the traffic had already started to back up.
Fortunately, I had my smart phone with me, and used my "WAZE" app, as a GPS on my way down to East Walpole and on the way home. Since things took some time when I arrived at the pet store to pick up Aziza, it was a little bit before noon before I was on my way home. I was able to get home, by going through Dorchester and Southie, and thus spending a relatively brief time on the already-choked northbound side of the Southeast Expressway, and got home with a minimum of wear on my nerves, and Aziza was happy to get home, as well, and not be confined to her carrier. Whew!
Aziza's great--and I'm glad to have her home, and she's glad to be home.
Sad!
Sad!
Pedestrian privilege.
There is no line for bicyclists? OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Not a car camping area, either
Humans waiting in line. Not in their cars.
Well, hey
A man's tent is his castle.
Yikes!
From the looks of that tent, seems like the guy is in there plotting to overcome the forces of Saladin!
Was he wearing armor?
Occupy Best Buy.
Occupy Best Buy.
Occubuy?
Occubuy?
No TVs at Sears in Cambridge!...
No TVs at Sears in Cambridge!... a store with otherwise good customers services practices.
Please update if new TVs turn up at Cambridge Sears...
????
What is this "Sears" that you speak of?
I'm fairly certain that Sears got out of the TV game
The Natick store has one display model. I've never actually gone up to it, so for all I know it's for the staff to stave off boredom.
You do know that there is another store at the Galleria that sells home electronics, right?
Maybe more people are wising up a bit.
The fact that people can get so hyper about a discount TV or whatever that they flock to the stores like sheep, in the hopes of buying it before the Christmas rush really begins practically defies belief, at times.
I still remember a horrible incident that occurred some years ago, when a temporary worker at a Wal*Mart was trampled to death by the crowd who'd flocked to the store for discount TV's, not to mention the early 1980's brouhaha over the Cabbage Patch dolls, which resulted in brawls in parking lots, and one person ended up with a broken leg.
I wonder if these events made more people start wise up about "Black Friday".
Anything that can is good, despite being horrible.
Stores would do well to manage things better on "Black Friday". Implementing a first-come, first-served policy, with tags for the people, would help a great deal to relieve a lot of the stuff that goes on the day after Thanksgiving.
